Silicon

Silicon (Si) is a chemical element belonging to the crystallogens family with atomic number 14. After oxygen, it is the second most abundant element in the Earth's crust. Silicon is not found in its native state but rather combined with other minerals, primarily in the form of silicates. Silicates make up over 97% by weight of the Earth's crust.
