Metals

Metals are naturally present in the Earth's crust, concentrated in granitic magma. They are found in all environmental compartments, but generally in very small quantities. Metals are heavy elements known for their ability to conduct heat and electricity. They release electrons to form cations, and they typically form basic oxides through combination with oxygen.
